Dear Colleagues,
I wanted to take a moment to inform you and your trainees of a unique opportunity. At Mayo Clinic Arizona we have an opening for our Endourology Fellowship program focusing on advanced endourologic techniques, research, and innovative robot-assisted and laparoscopic surgery.
The Endourology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Arizona offers both a 2 year fully accredited position as well as a new one year Advanced Certificate of Completion beginning in July 2014. The comprehensive program develops skills in endourology and minimally invasive surgery, but can be structured to meet the individual objectives of the trainee.
The fellowship is structured to allow the fellow to master: metabolic stone disease, endourology, complex laparoscopy and robotics, and holmium laser enucleation of the prostate. There is a huge clinical volume of surgical cases as well as provisions and support to allow the fellow to develop individual research projects and investigational skills.
The "Valley of the Sun" is a large metropolitan area that offers many conveniences and amenities that appeal to a number of interests and activities. It is the second fastest growing state as well as one of the top vacation destinations in the US.
The fellowship director is Dr. Mitch Humphreys, but Dr. Paul Andrews and Dr. Erik Castle also provide mentoring roles as does the rest of the Department of Urology. Applicants must be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in Arizona and must have completed residency/fellowship in the United States or Canada. Bright inquisitive individual with a strong urology background and work ethic are encouraged to apply.
If there are specific questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact the program director, Dr. Humphreys, or the program coordinator, Verna Roller.
