Job Information

Fellowship description Asklepios Klinik Barmbek

We are dealing with the entire range of endourological procedures in our department:

Stone management is fully covered since we have a case load of about 1000 ureteroscopic, percutaneous, and SWL procedures.

We are a reference centre for transurethral thulium laser enucleation of the prostate (worldwide first description of the ThuVEP procedure).

Urothelial tumors of the lower and upper urinary tract are treated by TURB and ureteroscopy.

We perform the following laparoscopic procedures: cyst decortications, nephrectomies, partial nephrectomies, pyeloplasties, ureteral reconstructions, varicocele ligations, and adrenalectomies.

We do not perform robotic surgery.

Our research is mainly based upon in vitro stone research, prospective/retrospective studies on thulium laser surgery and ureteroscopy, respectively.

We have a laboratory with the complete armamentarium for in vitro studies on stone treatment including laparoscopic and endourological training models (HiFi and LowFi simulators)

The fellowship is a 1-year engagement and consists of both research and clinical activities.

Please be aware that our department cannot provide a salary and that you should ensure your own funding.

A certificate of proficiency in the German language has to be done during the time of the programme.
