Description of the program
The one-year Advanced Clinical Training Fellowship entails comprehensive training in all aspects of minimally invasive urology. This includes techniques for PCNL (Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy), both in supine and prone positions, as well as mini-PCNL and combined approaches. Ureteroscopy and RIRS (Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery) techniques, as well as Shock Wave Lithotripsy, are covered extensively. The program also offers intensive training in HOLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate) and other transurethral techniques for the treatment of BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) and bladder TCC including Laser En Block Resection. Additionally, the fellow will participate in prostate Fusion Biopsy and focal therapy for prostate cancer. The fellow will be exposed to an integrative approach to stone disease, including detailed metabolic evaluation and preventive measures. Participation in clinical as well as basic research projects is encouraged.
The urology department at Rabin Medical Center is the largest urology department in Israel. The medical center is situated in Petach Tikva, a city approximately 30 minutes' drive from Tel Aviv.
This fellowship program is intended for urologists who have completed their training and desire to specialize in minimally invasive techniques for urinary calculi disease and prostatic surgery. The program's mission is to offer intensive surgical training opportunities to urologists from our region as well as other countries.
Clinical Responsibilities: The fellow will be responsible for conducting daily rounds with the endourology resident. The fellow will see patients in the outpatient clinic, participate in endoscopic surgery, and engage in teaching activities. They will also be responsible for maintaining a prospective database.
