The Young Endourology Committee is pleased to announce the launch of the “Young Endourological Society Career Development and Mentorship Program”. The program is designed to encourage professional growth and collaboration between early-career mentees and mid- to late-career mentors beyond their local programs, to foster 1:1 relationship within the Endourological Society. Through this program, mentees will be matched with a corresponding mentor based on their area of expertise, mutual interests and goals. This opportunity is designed to connect mentees in meaningful ways with mentors who have past experience to help them navigate their career and professional development.

Applicant Requirements:
- Mentor applicants: Must be a member of the Endourological Society in good standing (more than 10 years from training); Previous year mentors are eligible to apply again
- Mentee applicants: Must be a member of the Endourological Society in good standing (within 10 years from training, Endourological Society Fellow or Resident committed to applying for endourology fellowship)
- Applicants must be committed to participating in mentor-mentee virtual meetings (face-to-face) for 1 hour on a monthly basis over the 6-month period
- Willingness to provide post-program feedback
Program Expectations:
- Mentees to complete (a) Self-Assessment and (b) Shared Action Plan documents prior to first meeting with their mentor, outlining specific goals
- Monthly virtual meetings (up to 1 hour) to be scheduled at program launch (6 total)
- Joint Mentorship Program Contract to be signed at program launch
- Optional in-person meeting at WCET, EAU, and/or AUA meetings, if able to attend
- Complete end of program assessment and participate in debrief interview to understand opportunities for program improvement

HAMID PAKMANESH, MD
“2024 MENTOR OF THE YEAR”
Dr. Hamid Pakmanesh is an associate professor at KMU's Urology Department in Kerman, Iran. He earned his medical degree from SBMU, Tehran, and completed his residency and fellowship in endourology and laparoscopy at LMC, Tehran. He furthered his skills in retroperitoneal laparoscopy and robotic surgery at SLK, Germany, and is a pioneer of the retroperitoneal approach in the region. He has published over 70 scientific articles and presentations and reviewed about 100 journal articles. He currently serves as a section editor for the Urology Journal.
He is the General Secretary of the IEUS and Secretary of the Kerman branch of the Iranian Urological Association.
